Founded in 1990 by Robert Roper, Roper & Associates was originally formed with the vision of becoming the property valuation industry leader in KwaZulu-Natal and its surrounding areas. Over the 30 years that Roper & Associates has been servicing the property market, we’ve had the privilege of executing property valuations across South Africa, for clients from all walks of life and an extensive range of industries.

Our exceptional property valuation skills have been honed over 30 years of industry experience, throughout which we have been tested and have always come out on top. Our property valuation industry reputation is such that our motivated reports, notwithstanding being given only to the paying client, have in some cases been circulated to parties with vested interests in the properties. This means we are trusted, and are known to deliver super service without the need for a second opinion.

Meet the Roper & Associates Team

Robert Roper – Business Partner (Qualified Professional Valuer), has 40+ years of experience with 30 years in property valuations, 8 years in construction and engineering and 11 years in Real Estate sales. He is proficient in the valuation of residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural property with respect to litigation, expropriation, sequestrations, property trust, acquisitions/mergers, participation bond schemes, annual financial statements, municipal appeals and replacement values for insurance among others. He is a skilled expert witness for advisory and arbitration services. Robbie’s aim is to give back to the profession by training and mentoring candidate valuers and to contribute to the success of small businesses in South Africa.

Nicki Sargent – Business Partner (Administration Manager / Appraiser and with the company for 27 years), with over 27 years of experience has both practical and academic knowledge on property valuations. She has extensive experience in research methodology and valuation report writing of the highest standards. In addition to her broad base of valuation and administrative skills, she provides training to the candidate valuers on a daily basis and manages and makes critical decisions on behalf of the business. She is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations and financial health of the business. Her role also includes planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of the staff and other resources within the business.

Dhiresh Gunpath – Business Partner (Professional Valuer and with the company for 20 years), Our senior Valuer has 24 years of experience with 20 years in Property Valuations, 6 years in architecture and Real Estate sales. Dhiresh is accomplished in the valuation of residential, commercial, industrial and specialized properties with respect to litigation, collateral, liquidations, expropriation, sequestration / mergers, annual financial statements, municipal valuation appeals and replacements values for insurance, etc.

Joslynn Rungasamy – (Business Partner / Finance and with the company for 15 years), She has 24 years of experience in accounting, auditing and taxation background in Financial and statutory reporting in terms of IFRS and gained academic valuation knowledge over the years. She has deep analytical skills and this has held her in good stead to maintain a hands-on approach to the financial health of the company as well as all other key admin responsibilities. She assists to develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of the company, oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objects, and design frameworks for these to be met. Thereby, ensuring the smooth running of the business.

Kedusha Ramnarian – (Business Partner (Valuation Administrator/Candidate Valuer and with the company for 16 years) Over the years, she has acquired the capabilities of a strategist in the property field. Kedusha has extensive experience in research methodology and valuation report writing of the highest standards. She is knowledgeable, efficient and has held in good stead to maintain a practical hands-on approach to valuation administration. Kedusha’s core strengths lie in her practical and theoretical understanding of the essential aspects of real estate valuations. Her fresh approach and sought-after skills in providing an exceptional valuation service, always exceeds the clients’ expectations.

Neil Jones – Business Partner (Professional Associated Valuer with the company since June 2017) He has over 15 years’ experience in the real estate industry, with a broad knowledge of the property environment acquired through involvement in various sectors including: valuation, accounts and facilities management, construction, as well as residential, commercial and industrial sales and rentals. Neil joined the team with the objective of strengthening the in-house valuer contingent and increasing the overall efficiency and productivity of the company.

Nicole Venter (Company Secretary / Tenderer and has been with the company since 2017), joined the team bringing with her an exuberant personality. She plays a supportive role in the business by undertaking a variety of administrative tasks and ensures the overall functionality of the business. Over the past 3 years, she has learned the valuation process of the business, undertakes the compilation of valuation research obtained from auctions, efficient in tendering and updating of the company’s statutory documents. Nicole has excellent communication, customer service and relationship-building skills.

Mbali Nkosi – (Administration Assistant with the company since January 2020). Mbali joined us from eDeaf to assist with administration and has been a wonderful addition to our team, inspiring us all to learn sign language and improve our communication skills.
